Condition
Please note that these works have been examined within the frame.
(i)
The sheet is attached to the artist's mount at several places (verso), which is attached to the backboard at several places (verso). The edges of the sheet are uneven.
There is a loss to the upper right corner, a fold to the lower left corner and a tiny tear to the lower left edge, probably in line with the artist's removal from a wider sheet. A small light spot of staining to the centre right, with some gentle smudging to the surface, likely from the time of execution. There are some spots of surface dirt present and some of the pigments appear to have faded slightly.
In our opinion, this work is in overall good condition, its features in line with its historically intended use in the artist's studio.
(ii)
