MEDIUM: French Style Frame/Handcrafted Ebroidery Stitching
DIMENSIONS: 20 x 30 inches
CIRCA: Mid to Late 19th C.
ATTRIBUTION: American
DESCRIPTION: The subject item is a Victorian embroidery pictorial featuring the biblical tale of the baby Moses’ stream-side discovery.
CONDITION: Much of the delicate silk used as the stitching base, that is free of any of the embroidered scene, has some severe deterioration (see pics). The significant framing under glass helps keep it in place. It’s all original and in unaltered condition.
