A Queen Anne flat-top carved maple high chest of drawers, Connecticut River Valley, mid-18th century
Provenance
In two parts, with fan-carved drawers, cabriole legs ending in pad feet.
H: 71 ½ in. W: 40 in. D: 21 in

Collection of a Southern couple.
Condition
lot 27: the drawer faces with some occasional patches along edges; the cornice probably secured / reinforced, with some visible repaired breaks; some minor occasional popping to drawer runners; top-most long drawer with detached bottom board panel; lowest middle fan-carved drawer with patch where original lock was installed; most of the knee returns replaced; the front apron has likely been smoothed to underside and probably re-shaped; the legs with minor occasional age cracks and some scuffing to feet; the front right-facing leg with repaired break; the brasses and escutcheons have been replaced, with some ghost marks from former brasses visible to some drawers, and the long drawer on bottom section with left-most pull missing screws to hold bail pull in place (presently secured with wire); some age cracks to side panels; a tenon joint with loss to top of upper section (loss visible)
