Julien P. Friez, Baltimore, Maryland Anemometer Recorder (wind speed) marked "Belfort Observatory", Seth Thomas dual barrel movement under a wood cover and connected to a 4-in. drum by a dual piston and corkscrew arm, housed on a painted cast iron base
Condition
This is an interesting meteorological instrument used to record wind speed; the Seth Thomas movement that powers the drum will work; the condition of the battery unit is unknown, the base is lacking its glass cover and has some loss of the ebonized finish but does have decorative flowers and corner pieces; the maker's trademark is stamped on all of the brass support pieces; the unit itself is untested, circa 1926
