Description
(1896 - 1942) SS and Police Leader in Warsaw from November 1939 to July 1941. Transferred to the Waffen SS, he served with the SS-Totenkopf Division and died in action on the eastern front. Moder's unit was responsible for guarding Jewish forced laborers in the ghetto, he arrested (and likely murdered) over 1,000 members of the Polish resistance, and was instrumental in building the wall which surrounded the ghetto. Excessively rare partial D.S., 7.5 x 2 in., Berlin, June 6, 1934, the bottom of a document filled-out and signed by Moder, mounted to an image of Moder in uniform. Very good.
