Rare publication: 'The Allied Military Missions in Berlin 1945-1948' (Berlin: Bulletin Quotidien d'Information), 1949. 146pp. large 4to., heavily illustrated, no. 53 of 300 copies. A collection of portraits with brief biographies of the several dozen top leaders and administrators of the various foreign missions in postwar Berlin, presented in three languages (English, French, and Russian). This copy bears a Berlin, May 18, 1949 presentation inscription on the front flyleaf signed by Col. ALEXANDER P. HODGES (1894-1977) who served as Chief Allied Liaison Officer between the four occupying powers and the 15 Allied Military Missions. Also included is a British issue 1p. 4to. 'Movement Order' issued t Hodges on Aug. 6, 1948 giving him clearance to travel from Frankfurt to Baden-Baden, Prague, and ultimately, Berlin. A few rust spots to the pass, else fine condition.
