Description
(1892 - 1966) Commanded 6th Panzer Army in the Battle of the Bulge. Sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment for the execution of American P.O.W.s during the offensive. A certificate, 1p. folio, Berlin, Apr. 23, 1936, in which Dietrich as leader of the legendary ‘Teja’ Sturmbattailon Freikorps Oberland is honored for his service. The certificate is signed by WILHELM ADOLF REINHARD (1869-1955), later an SS-Brigadefuhrer and general of infantry. The Freikorps Oberland was a voluntary paramilitary unit that participated in the Battle of Annaberg as part of the liberation of Upper Silesia from Polish Insurgents, May 1921, and possibly was involved in the Munich Putsch of 1923. Light foxing, otherwise very good condition.
