Very rare publication: 'Zaglada Zydostwa Polskiego' ('Extermination of Polish Jews") (Lodz: Centralna Zydowska Konisja Historyczna W Polsce), 1945. 208pp. 13 x 9.25 in., black wrapper. Front cover detached, earlier pages bear some edge wear. First edition of this most important historical work, the first compilation of photographs documenting the process of the Nazis' extermination of Polish Jews. The album contains 252 photographs taken by amateurs and executioners, identifying the sites of the crimes and describing the events. Captions are printed in Polish, Russian, English, French, Hebrew and Yiddish and with more extensive explanatory notes to the photographs in the appendix in Polish and English. Extraordinary images, frighteningly graphic and compiled immediately at the end of the Second World War. An extremely important addition to any archive or library dealing with the Holocaust. WITH: 'Za Drutani' ('Behind Barbed Wires') by Jan Komski (Munich: P.B.I. News Agency), 1946. Approx. 40pp. 13 x 9.25 in. Reproduction of sketched made by a Polish artist held at Dachau, Gross Rosen, Flossenburg, and Auschwitz, from where he escaped. Scenes of torture, privation, executions, and death.
