Moses Hemmenway (1735-1811) was a somewhat liberal Calvinist and Congregational minister supporting infant baptism. William Hooper (1674-1767) had son of the same name who was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. William Linn was the first Chaplain of the U.S. House of Representatives. Trumbull (1735-1820) was an early American historian and preacher, best known for his Complete History of Connecticut (1818) and A General History of the United States (1810).
