First Edition.Inscribed and signed on the half title page, apparently by Masur though we cannot verify this, dated Stockholm, 1953. A brief memoir on a meeting between Masur (1901-1971), a Swedish member of the World Jewish Congress, and Heinrich Himmler that took place at an estate near Berlin on 20 April 1945. The matter under discussion was the liberation of several thousand concentration camp prisoners, many of them Jewish, and their handover to the Swedish Red Cross for subsequent transportation to Sweden (on the "white buses"). At the meeting with Himmler, Norbert Masur negotiated the release of 7,000 Jewish women from Ravensbrück concentration camp, and the women arrived in Sweden in April 1945. Presents Himmler's speech at this meeting, in which he tried to justify Germany's policy toward the Jews.
