NYC Theater/Opera Mens Vintage Matador Costume c1960. This vintage c1960 mens 3 piece matador costume features a heavily embellished cobalt blue ribbed coat with gold tone metallic soutache embroidery and sequins, padded shoulders covered in gold lame with soutache embroidery loop trim and 3D gold and silver coils. The jacket is high waisted, has white cotton pleated cuffs, and is lined in a thick cotton blend blue fabric. Also included is a matching low cut vest with soutache embroidered leaf and paisley shapes, 3 hook and eye closures, and an adjustable band at the back. As well as matching high waisted blue polyester knit pants with decorative bands running along the sides. There are internal buttons for suspenders, a front metal zip fly with snaps and hook and eye closures as well as at the end of the legs. Laying flat the jacket measures, shoulders 19'', chest 22.5'', sleeve 23.5'', length 20''. The vest measures: chest22.5'', length 20''. The pants measure: waist 17'', inseam 16'', length 30''. The set is in fair condition with general wear and losses to the soutache embroidery throughout, stained white cuffs, a tear on the left arm lining. The vest has similar wear with unsewn darts at the back, added inserts at the shoulders. The pants have heavy runs at the waist and center seams and similar wear to the embroidery.
