Including: Evening Bulletin, July 25, 1862 (4 pp.); Morning Daily Call, October 25, 1862 (4 pp.); and The Weekly Times, July 27, 1861 (8 pp.) Large folios, folded. ************* Contains news delivered by the Pony Express (1861 issue) and Civil War news (in other issues.) Includes news on the James Island campaign in South Carolina, a great victory in Arkansas, more. The July 25th issue has an article entitled "The Negro Scarecrow," which ends as follows: "The people are beginning to realize that to free the negroes of rebels... is a very small matter over which they should not hesitate. If Rebels wish their slave property protected, let them lay down their arms. If they do not... they have no reason to complain if we refuse to protect it for them."
Condition
All creased, as folded, some minor blemishes but mostly Good. Sold as-is.
