The Connecticut Journal. New Have: Green, September 13, 1775. SOLD WITH The Connecticut Journal and the New-Haven Post-Boy. [New Haven]: Green, August 16, 1775. Both folio, 4 pp. each. ************** A pair of newspapers from 1775. Contents include an extensive letter from US delegates to the people of Ireland, signed in print by John Hancock. Includes the defiant message, "Who can censure our repelling the attacks of such a barbarous band?" Also includes a notice of sale of "Three likely Negro Girls." Also with extensive reports and correspondence regarding conflict with Britain: "We are informed from good authority, that the ministry are fully resolved to force the Americans to illegal submission to the legislative supremacy of the British Empire... they are resolved to receive no proposals whatsoever from that illegal assembly" (i.e. the Continental Congress.)
