Manuscript document signed by Nathaniel Gorham. 4to, 1 pg. ****** Nathaniel Gorham (1738–1796) served as presiding officer of the Continental Congress and was a signer of the Constitution. The present is a document from his early career as a notary in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The following year, he would be elected to the colonial legislature, starting a distinguished political career and sending him on his way to becoming one of the founding fathers of the United States.
