In two parts: 70; 81 pp. Period full sheep binding. ********* With the ownership signature of Daniel De Benneville to title, with his manuscript notes/underlining in places throughout, and three leaves of manuscript notes laid in at front. Daniel De Benneville (1753–1828) enlisted as a surgeon in Colonel William Russell's 13th Virginia Regiment, and he served as Surgeon-in-chief of the Flying Hospital of the Continental Army. We note that the University of Stirling has an annotated book much like this (see their article on De Benneville's copy of "Collected Wisdom.")
Condition
Hinges cracked but boards secure, wear to extremities, rubbing, slight loss at head. Contents with foxing and occasional soiling, several ink-stamps. As-is.
