Equestrian Interest: A Geo III silver trophy cup with engraved inscription 'The Gentlemen's Subscription Cup, for the year 1789, Weymouth', hallmarked London 1788. The cup is believed to have been awarded by the subscribers of John Love's Library for an annual pony / horse race taking place on the Weymouth Sands. It is documented that King George III was a spectator at the race. Approx. 7 1/4" high
