Description
Fayette County, circa 1800. Walnut with poplar secondary. Bonnet with urn turned finials, broken arch pediment, inlaid shield with incised carved eagle, vine inlay, arched door and turned pilasters, case with molding under bonnet and at waist, quarter reeded columns burled overlapping door with scalloped top, base with lambs tongue chamfers, French feet and shaped apron with inlaid fan. Painted sheet steel face with fazed of the moon dial, celestial and terrestrial globes and fruit and foliage. Brass works, weights, pendulum and key. Refinished age split on case base and replaced feet and finials. 109"h. 22.5"w. 11.25" d.
