This is a fantastic, large map of the Russian Empire of the early 18th century. The map extends from Finland to Siberia and Tartary. Novaya Zemlya is shown connected to the mainland. There is no Kamchatka Peninsula. The Caspian is miss-shaped. The map is flanked by panels of French text with historical notes, the provincial coats-of-arms, and six medallions. Much detail is offered as to topgraphy, rivers, lakes, forests, towns, roads and routes, etc.
