Canova's Guardian Lions: Neoclassical Marvels at Chatsworth House - (11lbs)

Our Canova Lions, a captivating duo, are exquisite replicas of the guardian lions adorning the tomb of Pope Clement XIII in St. Peter's, Rome. Crafted by the renowned neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova, these statues were commissioned in 1823 by the 6th Duke of Devonshire for Chatsworth House in England.

The Sleeping Lion at Chatsworth House is the work of Rinaldo Rinaldi, while the Crouching Lion, created by Francesco Benaglia, boasts a weight of 3.5 tonnes each.

Additionally, a bronze reproduction of the Canova Lions graces the entrance of the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., cast from molds derived from the originals. If you're an enthusiast of interior lion sculptures, consider bringing the charm of Chatsworth into your home with our Canova Lions – the perfect decorative sculptures for aficionados of exquisite art.
