A German Left-Hand Dagger Late 16th Century Or Later With tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section with central fuller over most of its length on each side extending into the fullered recessed rectangular ricasso, iron hilt comprising arched quillons of circular section with turned compressed spherical tips with small button terminals, side-ring, compressed globular pommel en suite with the quillon tips, and swelling leather-covered (leather worn) grip set along both sides between deeply cusped ferrules with two longitudinal reinforcing-strips each with central moulding (some pitting overall) 28 cm. blade Footnotes: For an almost identical example see Bashford Dean, The Metropolitan Museum Of Art, Catalogue Of European Daggers..., 1928, p. 131, no. 168, pl.
