An Esterbrook dipping pen, used by President Lyndon B. Johnson to sign H. R. 7031, An Act to provide for the establishment and operation of a National Technical Institute for the Deaf. Measuring 6.25" in length, [Washington, D.C.], ca. June 8, 1965. The Esterbrook Desk Pen model features a black plastic grip and a crystal clear Lucite barrel on which "THE PRESIDENT - THE WHITE HOUSE" is etched in white on the barrel. Attractively displayed with a copy of the Act, a telegram inviting Alexander Fleischman, President of the National Congress of Jewish Deaf, to the signing event, and a newspaper clipping, measuring 24.5" x 13". Faint, expected wear to the pen. Edge toning to the Act edges. The newspaper clipping and telegram are heavily toned. Toning to the mat edges as well. Overall very good.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
