A fountain pen used by President Bill Clinton to sign H.R. 2010, An Act to amend the National and Community Service Act of 1990. Measuring 5.5" in length, Washington, D.C., dated January 5, 1993. The pen model features a gold grip and a black barrel and cap, on which a facsimile of Clinton's signature is etched. Attractively displayed with a copy of the Act, and a typed letter signed to a senator who supported the Act, measuring 33.5" x 19.5" overall. Near fine.

The typed letter signed "Bill Clinton" is addressed to Senator Barbara A. Mikulski. 1p, measuring 6.25" x 9.75" (sight), Washington, D.C., dated October 1, 1993. Typed on White House stationery. Inscribed at the bottom by Clinton, "Your support for National Service has really meant a lot to me."

The National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993 was signed during Clinton's first year in office. It amended the National and Community Service Act of 1990 and the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973 to reauthorize, revise, and reorganize national and community service and domestic volunteer programs, establish a Corporation for National Service and a National Service Trust program of Federal investment in support of national service, and provide expanded opportunities for national service and educational awards for participants.
