Hunter returned to paint a series of Loch Lomond subjects in 1931, and these represent some of his finest, most spontaneous landscapes. Paintings of this particular vista can be found in Glasgow Museums and Art Galleries, No.2394 William McInnes Bequest; and in the Fleming Collection, London.

Presents well overall.

The canvas has been lined. On close inspection you can actually see the upper edge where it has been trimmed unevenly and laid on the new canvas.
Right edge shows rubbing, from a pervious frame perhaps.
The surface has some light scuffs and scrapes. Slightly grubby, my benefit from a light clean.

Overall frame dimensions: 71 x 84 x 3 cm. Not glazed.
