1973 Fender Precision Bass in Natural Finish

This 1973 Precision Bass by Fender, finished in natural ash is an incredible road-worn instrument, with one owner who was a professional musician. The blonde finish has darkened with age, and shows where the instrument was played over the course of 5 decades.

The serial number on the neck plate suggests a manufacture date of 1973, and stamps on the inside of the body and neck support this as well. This vintage Fender bass is quite playable, and would sound even better with a setup and fresh strings. Comes with a period hardshell case, as well as strings and vintage patch cables.

Condition Report: The finish has darkened and shows significant wear, which is to be expected for an instrument that toured for several decades; the hardware has oxidized, but is still fully functional; and the output jack may need cleaning, tightening or replacing as there is some noise. The owner stated that the electronics were modified in the 1980s to reduce a hum coming from the pots.
