Description
A VICTORIAN SILVER AND ENAMEL NOVELTY VESTA CASE

by Louis Dee, London 1883, retailed by W. Thornhill & Co, in the form of a book, the hinged cover enamelled with a cover from Punch magazine. 5.2cm square, 2.4 troy ounces gross

The magazine depicted is no. 1703, Volume the Sixty-Sixth, February 1874

The marks are crisp and clear. The appearance is generally good, although, under a loupe, there are surface scratches to the enamel and a few short hairlines tracking in from the sides. The silver is generally good, with some faint scratches and wear in line with age and use.
