John Northwood for Thomas Webb, an etched green vaseline wine glass, circa 1880, the rounded bowl with stylised laburnum festoons below a beaded border, 11cm high Note: the Northwood workshop's technique of etching even the thinnest and finest wine glasses was perfected during the 1870s and became a popular method of decorating services by the major Stourbridge factories. The petal motifs and style are distinctively by Northwood, while the shape and manufacture of this glass is by Thomas Webb.
