Description
American/European, c. 1947, pen, ink and watercolor on paper. Depicting museum patrons, Mestrovic (1883-1952) in the foreground and three other figures in the background, in front of statuary. Unsigned. In a black frame with a burlap liner. Image: 19.75"h. 20.5"w. Framed: 24"h. 26.75"w. The depiction is of the artist in front of his works during a 1947 exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery, and was obtained by the curator at the time, and has descended in her family. The drawing was probably done by one of the professors at the Corcoran at that time.
Condition
Good. Water stains on liner.
