Description
Ca. 1790-1810, Portsmouth area pine toilet table. Toilet tables were cloth covered dressing tables of simple form and soft woods designed to be draped in silk, satins, velvet, or tissue. This example is in an old brown stain with a serpentine top, and applied aprons, with straight legs. 26”H x 37”W x 21”W. Provenance: Cain Collection, previously found in a barn near Huntington MA.

Surface abrasions thoughout, shrinkage cracking, structurally sound.
