Description
Egyptian Revival armchair, figural carved upright stiles with mother of pearl and bone inlay, Moorish motifs, upholstered in green fabric with brass tack detail, on claw carved feet. 39.5”H x 31”W x 30”D x 14” seat H. Provenance: from the lobby of the Egyptian Theater, Brighton MA, built in 1929, by architectural firm Eisenberg & Freer. This 1700 seat theater closed its doors in 1958 and was subsequently demolished.
Condition
Inlay loss throughout, looseness in arms, old glued repair to front seat rail, other finish wear.
