A Gold Mask Lambayeque culture, North Coast Peru, c. 700-900 AD Sheet gold alloy with a high gold content with repousse and embossing. The ears and earrings trimmed with small bosses. The eyes with metal cups over the pupils emanating a long thin metal rod. This mask features many spade-shaped dangles: from top of the ears, earrings, lower jawline, cheeks, and over mouth.
