Delbert "Cigar" Daisey, (VA, 1929-2017), Rare Hen Black Duck

Chincoteague, Virginia, circa 2000, carved and painted wood, glass eyes, carved wing details, branded CIGAR on bottom with additional DELBERT "CIGAR" DAISEY / FEMALE BLACK in pen.
Length 17.5 in.
Cigar was given his nickname by a game warden when he lost some cigars while stealing ducks from the warden's trap. Daisey and his stories are of folk legend. His life and decoys have been memorialized in a book by Doily Fulcher.
