Description
Ancient Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 1900 BCE. A spool-shaped pottery bowl of sizable form with a concave shoulder with a projecting upper rim as well as a squat central rim. Both the shoulder and the gently corseted body are adorned with expertly-arranged geometric motifs presented in vibrant hues of vermilion, saffron, and turquoise, all outlined in black. Size: 6.46" Diameter x 3" H (16.4 cm x 7.6 cm)

Condition
Restoration to base, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Small loss to rim as shown. Abrasions and fading to pigment, with extensive earthen deposits, otherwise in nice condition. Nice preservation of original geometric motifs across exterior.
