Pre-Columbian, Honduras or El Salvador, Maya, Copador type, Late Classic Period, ca. 700 to 900 CE. A remarkable pottery bowl of hemispherical form hand-painted with a row of 3 monkeys alternating with circles on the body beneath a band of glyphs that lines the rim. Size: 8.1" Diameter x 4.2" H (20.6 cm x 10.7 cm)

Provenance: private southern California, USA collection, acquired before 2000

Condition
Professionally repaired with restoration and repainting over break lines; all done very well and difficult to notice. Weathering to surface with nicks and abrasions as shown. Otherwise, good remaining pigments and detail and light earthen deposits throughout.
