Antique c1880 Basket Authentic Crib Quilt measuring 45 x 45 inches. It is comprised of 16 basket blocks, 6.5 x 6.5 inches, set on point, 4 by 4, with white solid alternating squares and setting triangles. There is a 4.25 inch white border. It is hand pieced, machine appliquéd, and hand quilted. The quilting is very dense and well done. Thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The narrow edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition with a few small spots. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
