壺瓷胎，胎質細膩，直口，斜肩，長方形扁腹，橢圓形圈足。壺腹兩面彩繪鍾馗迎 蝠圖，鍾馗頭戴藍彩官帽，身著長袍，足履短靴，一面鍾馗怒目欲拔劍，望向身旁 紅蝠；另面鍾馗抬手指點，回望紅蝠。除衣帽施釉外，餘處光素，細膩胎質與光潔 釉彩形成對比，彰顯主題特徵。

自古以來，「蝠」與「福」諧音，蝙蝠為中華文化的吉祥象徵，蘊含豐富吉祥祝願。 而在傳統紋飾中，鍾馗經常跟蝙蝠組合出現，寄喻「鍾馗引福」、「鍾馗賜福」、「執 劍（只見）福來」等美好祝福。北京故宮博物院庋藏清道光〈紅彩鍾馗迎蝠圖鼻煙 壺〉，與本品皆以鍾馗與蝙蝠為主題紋樣，展露人們對福運之美好追求。
