花籃及吊鍊以活環相扣，乃取整料精良白玉套連琢製而成，質地細膩瑩潤，潔白純淨， 寶光瑩瑩。器呈海棠花形體，子母口，與足亦隨形。蓋鈕雕琢一朵含苞待放西番蓮，花 蕾綻裂，葉緣鏤雕四片向外卷折套四活環，生動表現出盎然生機。花籃呈四瓣花形，兩 側各飾一株西番蓮花活環耳，圈足外撇。器身光素隨花形，飽滿工整，打磨細緻平滑， 凹凸錯落，具有「良玉不琢」之巧。折沿口兩側凸起沖耳，其上各套十二個活環成套 鍊，上端連接透雕折枝橫樑，樑正中套活環墜，雕飾西番蓮花蕾，姿態曼妙。橫樑中央 對稱處有孔，可以銅鉤穿孔將整個花籃掛於木架。北京故宮博物院庋藏清中期〈水晶活 鍊花籃〉，其口沿凸起沖耳並套活環鍊條之裝飾手法與本品相似，可資參考。 兩者皆以吊鍊活環為飾，寓意「盛世太平」，具有長遠長久之意。

花籃蓋上西番蓮葉緣套四活環，屬錦上添花之舉，反映宮廷華貴尊榮。北京故宮博物院 庋藏清中期〈和闐青玉十二辰活環奩〉，富麗喜氣，應為清宮皇室婚禮用具， 蓋頂套四活環之造型與本品相似，可資參考。唯本件花籃新穎獨特，以吊鍊活環為飾。 花籃裝飾手法採浮雕、立雕、鏤雕等技法，胎體透薄，華貴而不豔俗，具痕都斯坦玉作 之工藝特徵，並融入典型伊斯蘭燦爛華麗的裝飾風格，使之尤為精美典雅。

蘇州作為宮廷收藏玉器的重要供應地，乾隆皇帝對痕都斯坦玉器晶瑩、薄透的精緻感最 為折服，每每詠讚「專諸巷多玉工，然不如和闐美玉。痕都斯坦玉工所製者，彼蓋水磨 所造，花葉分明，撫之卻無痕跡」，因此造就往後玉作諸坊極力仿製。而「籃子」音近 「男子」，寓意「宜男」，套上活環及鍊條更有連綿意象，清朝皇室喜愛使用此裝飾， 反映當時皇室渴望多添子嗣之意。

本件花籃精雅溫潤，造型周正勻實，拋光明亮，掏膛均勻，厚薄一致，子母口之間琢磨 嚴絲合縫。拍場相似之例可見拍賣於香港佳士得2010年12月1日，編號3026，清乾隆 〈白玉四喜八寶活環耳奩〉，其玉質及雕工與本品相似，皆展現出玉匠繁華細 緻之工藝。然本品其紋樣更為細緻，花葉分明，葉尖向外翻卷，起伏有致，增強藝術表 現效果，亦顯雍容華貴，應是蘇州玉匠仿痕都斯坦風格之玉作精品。
