A George III silver twin-handled cup and cover, the vase shape body to a pedestal foot, and decorated all over with swags and acanthus leaf within bead borders, with scroll handles further detailed with acanthus. Hallmarked William Grundy, London 1777. Approximate height to finial 32cm, weight 44.48ozt (1383.3g).

Condition Report:

Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing. Some surface nicks and minor dints. Main rim with very slight compression at the sides where the handles join and causing slight indentations to the inside. The cover fits fairly well to the main body although does not sit completely flush. Finial to lid possibly repaired and now leans to one side. Slight knock to edge of foot rim so that the foot now has a slight dint or crease on one side and wobbles a little bit. Hallmarks located to underside of foot with matching hallmarks to the inner rim of lid; these are a little rubbed or clipped around edges, but all are clearly legible.
