Description
A late Victorian silver mounted curling tong heater, the top of the case embossed with flowers and initialled cartouche, and opening to a base metal fitted interior. Hallmarked E S Barnsley & Co (Edward Souter Barnsley), Birmingham 1892. Measuring 7.5cm by 5.5cm.
Condition Report:
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- Some minor surface nicks and dints, and slightly heavier wear around edges and corners.
- Some surface rubbing and residues of old polish to the embossed decoration on the lid.
- Push release button to open lid appears in good working order, and closes securely.
- Base metal interior with some rust and dirt residues; possibly incomplete?
- Hallmarks a little rubbed, mainly the maker's marks, but all still legible.
