Item Details

Description

A late Victorian silver mounted curling tong heater, the top of the case embossed with flowers and initialled cartouche, and opening to a base metal fitted interior. Hallmarked E S Barnsley & Co (Edward Souter Barnsley), Birmingham 1892. Measuring 7.5cm by 5.5cm.

Condition Report:

Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
Some minor surface nicks and dints, and slightly heavier wear around edges and corners.
Some surface rubbing and residues of old polish to the embossed decoration on the lid.
Push release button to open lid appears in good working order, and closes securely.
Base metal interior with some rust and dirt residues; possibly incomplete?
Hallmarks a little rubbed, mainly the maker's marks, but all still legible.
Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
