Item Details

Description

A late Victorian silver-gilt presentation key, the heart shape terminal having applied monogram within enamelled border reading 'Mytholmroyd Urban District Council', below an enamel flower, the reverse with presentation engraving. Hallmarked Birmingham 1896, with maker's mark A&B. Length 16cm, gross weight 3.37ozt (105g).

Condition Report:

Engraving reads 'Presented to C.W. Greenwood. Esq. JP. Chairman on the occasion of his opening the Council Offices. June 25th 1897.'
Appears quite dirty and tarnished all over and in need of a clean.
With some general surface wear, marks and scratches.
Some surface scratches and marks to the enamel and residues of glue; losses and cracks to the enamel flower.
Hallmarks clear and legible, also impressed ROSE.HALIFAX.
