Description
the flag, possibly a Reunion piece, has thirteen stars arranged in a circle of twelve with one centered within the circle situated on a blue field above three large stripes of red, white and red. The reverse with hand written ink inscription Mrs. Bradford Columbia. Provenance: Part of the property of Mrs. Elizabeth Parker Bradford, Columbia, Missouri, co-founder of the John Sapington Marmaduke Chapter of the United Sates of the Confederacy Columbia, Missouri. Mrs. Bradford's brother William Parker was killed fighting in Kentucky in 1863. Flag was sewn between 1861-1890 per records of the Bradford's. Height 47 1/2 x width 71 inches.
