Item Details

Description

Queen Anne burlwood cased tall case clock with a sarcophagus bonnet encasing works signed “Wm. Claggett, Newport”, with a pewter chapter ring, Roman numerals and brass spandrels all encasing eight-day works above a case with a rectangular door and conforming base. 91”h.x18”w.x10”d.

Condition

Saddleboard replaced, bonnet backboard replaced, there appears to be a section missing from the top of the bonnet, floorboards missing, door hinges replaced, no winding key so we have not had it running, but no reason to believe it does/will not, nice highly figured veneer on door and base, most likely the works and case are together by association.
