Condition
In good condition for age and having once been put in use. The mixed metal lid, which appears to be primarily made of brass, seems to be a later replacement, but very much consistent with period style pulls used for similar Japanese ironware. Inside has some oxidation from traces of water. We have overexposed some of our photos to illuminate the inside and underside of the piece. The post attaching the pull has a slight bend to it, and remnants of a thread which was wrapped around it. The hardware has a somewhat crude, hand-machined quality to it.
