Tetsubin iron teapot - Japan - ca. 1900 A hand made Japanese iron teapot A real tetsubin teapot with a Marker stamp on the bottom of the kettle. There are different theories about the country of origin of the Tetsubin. Most likely, the Tetsubin was first used and made in Japan around the time that the green tea brand Sencha came on the market in Japan, between the 17th and 18th century. The traditional Japanese cast-iron teapot was in all probability first used for boiling water. H is 21.5 cm incl handle Br. is 18 Cm Weight is 1971 grams.
