A PAIR OF SPANISH OR SPANISH COLONIAL CARVED AND POLYCHROME WOOD CRUCIFIXES’ 19TH CENTURY. The first realistically carved with torn flesh and open wounds, the head set with glass eyes and mounted on a green painted cross with painted metal sign at top, some damage and losses. Overall height including cross 28.75 inches (73cm). Together with another example with extensive losses to corpus and extensive damage and restoration, together with the original roughhewn style carved wood cross in green paint and gold leaf accents. Overall height including cross 29 inches (74 cm).
