Description
Massachusetts Chippendale Bonnet-top High Chest 

American (probably North Shore, Massachusetts), 1750-1770. A Chippendale high chest with a broken scrolled pediment, flame finials, the top three aligned drawers conforming to the top, the center top drawer with fan carving, the lower four, graduated, all with thumb-moulded overlapping drawer faces. The lower case with one long drawer over three aligned, the center drawer with fan carving, all over shaped aprons and sides, arched legs with sharp arising knees and ending in claw and ball feet; ht. 81, wd. 38, dp. 22 in.
