.36 Caliber revolver made by the Savage Revolving Firearms Company. This revolver was made from 1861 until 1862 with a total production of only 20,000 guns. It was called a "Navy" due to its caliber. It is a military revolver was one of the few handguns that was produced only for Civil War usage. Top of barrel reads "SAVAGE R.F.A. Co. MIDDLETOWN, CT H.S. NORTH PATENTED JUNE 17 1856 JANUARY 10 1859. MAY 15 1860"
Condition
In nice overall condition, handle has likely been replaced, has chip in wood on one side. Patina has been wiped where the gun is signed. Hammer does not seem to have spring
