From a Viennese private collection
The plate is a sea found from the wreck of the “Diana” sunk off the Strait of Malacca in 1817 on its way from China to India. The porcelain of this found got auctioned at Christie’s Amsterdam.
The plate with underglaze blue painting, depicting blossoms with a starbust motif (formed as sunrays), amid free calligraphic patterns, very good condition, one plate with crack.
