Circa 1840 Terrestrial Pocket Globe of the Earth Published by J.G. Klinger in Nuremberg. 1 5/8 Inch Diameter Orb with Polar Pins Fitting Into Groves in Fitted Square Pasteboard Box without the Meridian Scale Built in. Box lid has Colored lithograph label Titled "Die Erde" with View of Three Children in an Interior Studying Geography with a Hand Globe, Table Globe and Double Hemisphere World Wall Map. Simplified Surface Shows Persia, Hindostan, Thibet [sic]. Pacific Ocean Called "Great Pacific Ocean" and Australia Consists of New Holland and Most of the South Pacific Islands. East Coast of New Holland Shows New South Wales. North America has "United States" with Oregon and Texas, (presumably as a separate country), British Possessions, Alaska and Mexico, Plus West Indies Called "West India". South Africa Shows Cape of Good Hope. Surface Wear Consistent with Age Otherwise in Very Good Condition. Case Measures 2 Inches Tall by 3 Inches Square. Shipping $28.00
