Description
Big Bopper Owned/Played Guitar, Strap, and Framed Photo.  The Gibson acoustic guitar offered here is both exhilarating and melancholy. According to J. P. Richardson III ("Little Bopper"), this guitar was the only one his "Big Bopper" dad owned at the time of his tragic death in 1959. The instrument was actually retrieved from the wreckage of the small plane that crashed, killing Rock and Roll stars Buddy Holly and Richie Valens, along with the Bopper. Two long cracks on the front and another on the backside were apparently the result of that crash. Included here is a monogrammed "Big Bopper" guitar strap and a large 15.75" x 20" photo of the Bopper playing this guitar in a pensive moment, framed beautifully to an overall 24.5" x 28.25", in Very Fine condition. The guitar and frame have been signed by "The Little Bopper". LOA from J. P. Richardson III ("Little Bopper").Â
