Beautifully shaped set with neo-baroque design

This sterling silver set was made by American Poole Silver Company in Taunton Massachusetts. It comprises a teapot, a creamer and a sugar bowl. Each piece features a neo-baroque formal language and is raised on four little feet. The handle of the pot is fitted with two insulating rings made of bone, the cover is crowned by a pierced finial in rocaille form.

Every piece is marked ‘Sterling by Poole’ and ‘990’ and bears an engraved lion on the underside.

The set is in very good condition with hardly any signs of wear. The sugar bowl with a tiny dent (hardly noticeable). The teapot measures 24 cm in height. The total weight is approx. 1,841 grams.
